You know Guava has lot of health benefits as a whole fruit, also the leaves and bark of guava has its own nutritional value and benefits. This inexpensive and humble food is regarded as one of the 'super foods' natures has blessed us with. It has numerous health benefits.


Benefits of guava leaf and extract:
• The guava leaf extract is also effective in treating gastrointestinal problems as it is rich in quercetin and other flavonoids. A drug used for the treatment of diarrhoea has been developed using guava leaves for this very reason. 
• The juice of the leaves cures toothache, swollen gums and oral ulcers, heals wounds when applied externally, convulsions, epilepsy, and bacterial infections.
• The bark extract is also supposed to protect the heart and improve its functionality and has been recently used to treat irregular heartbeats.

• The benefits of guava include controlling blood pressure, lowering cholesterol, battling diabetes, combating cancer and protecting prostrate.
• Guava is very rich in astringents, which binds up loose bowels in diarrhea. These astringents are alkaline in nature and have disinfectant and anti-bacterial properties, thus help cure dysentery by inhibiting microbial growth and removing extra mucus from the intestines.
• Guava can improve the texture of skin and help avoid skin problems. For the purpose, you can either eat it raw or make wash your skin with a decoction of its immature fruits and leaves.
• Juice of raw and immature guavas or decoction of guava-leaves is known to bring relief in cough and cold.
• Being rich in Vitamin C; guava is effective in treating male infertility caused by sperm clumping, adhesion and other abnormalities.
