Quiet Time

We need to carve out a space in our day, everyday for some quiet time. Quiet time is essential. I start mine when I reach work early before anyone else arrives. It is so peaceful. No phones ringing, no interruptions, just me and my Lord. I sing and shout, afterall no one is around to hear me or for me to disturb them. I pray, I meditate and I listen for God's response.

On other days, I wake early while the rest of the family is sleeping and snoring :) and I conduct my quiet time I find that having quiet times settles me, and I am better prepared to deal with whatever comes my way, good and bad.

I love, love the Psalms, so I have developed a strategy to read the entire book of Psalms every month. Every day I read 5 Psalms, For example, today is the 28th day of the month so I start with Psalm 28, then add 30, so the next Psalm is 58, then add 30, the next Psalm is 88, then add 30, the next Psalm is 118, then add 30 and the last Psalm is 148. Get the picture? So follow this pattern every day and by the end of a month you would have read the entire book of Psalms. Remember the date of the month is your guideline and add 30 each time.

Try it and let me know how it works for you.
