TREASURE YOUR EYESIGHT

Did you know that deep-fried (oily) foods and processed foods deteriorate your eyesight very quickly? If you're at an early stage of compromised vision, avoid these foods and start including high antioxidant foods in your diet.

Beta-carotene and lutein are two nutrients that are absolutely essential to supporting and protecting your eyesight as you age. Carrots, spinach and kale are some of the best food sources of both of these nutrients.

Regular consumption of foods high in antioxidants have been known to reduce the risks of eye problems like short or long-sightedeness, astigmatism and cataracts. Fresh plant foods that are deep in yellow-orange-red colors contain phytonutrients best suited for this purpose.

Grapes, blueberries, blackberries, bilberry, raspberries and strawberries are also known to be rich with a phytonutrient (anthocyanidins) that is effective in protecting against cell degeneration in our eyes.

RECIPE:
- 2 cups of strawberries
- 1 cup of blueberries
- 1 cup of bilberries
- 1 cup of raspberries

Juice these using a masticating juicer or use a blender to blend into a smoothie. Serve chilled.
