Pray Continually for Your Children

"I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours." (John 17:9 NIV)
Jesus reflected the father heart of God when he prayed for the disciples. As a father or mother, you can pray that your children will focus on the five purposes of God.
God's five purposes for your children are the same as God's five purposes for your life. Jesus prayed for all five purposes in the lives of those he was leading: "I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours" (John 17:9 NIV).

We can pray that our children will live for Christ joyfully: "I pray these things while I'm still in the world so that they will have the same joy that I have" (John 17:13b GW).

We can pray that our children will grow strong spiritually: "I'm not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one" (John 17:15 NLT).

We can pray that our children will serve Christ effectively: "Make them ready for your service through your truth; your teaching is truth" (John 17:17 NCV).

We can pray that our children will experience fellowship personally: "My prayer is that they will be of one heart and mind, just as You and I are one, Father … and the world will believe You sent Me" (John 17:21 LB).

We can pray that our children will bring others to Christ regularly: "I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in Me because of their message" (John 17:20 TEV).

Talk About It
What are ways you can pray your children live for Christ? Grow strong? Serve Christ? Experience fellowship? Bring others to Christ?

Correct Your Children Without Condemning Them

"Correct your children while there is still hope; do not let them destroy themselves." (Proverbs 19:18 NCV)
We all need correction at times, because no one is perfect. If I don't discipline my kids, it means two things:

I'm willing to participate in their destruction. Proverbs 19:18 says, "Correct your children while there is still hope; do not let them destroy themselves" (NCV). If I don't take the time to correct my kids and teach them new habits and the right way to behave and think, I'm actually setting them up to fail and be destroyed. Even worse, refusing to take the time to discipline our children is evidence of a lack of love in our heart. We don't think of it that way. Sometimes we're just too tired to fight another battle. But that reveals that we're putting our needs ahead of our child's needs. We need to take the time to discipline our kids.
How can we correct them in a way without condemning them?

Don't correct in anger. Ephesians 6:4 says, "Don't keep on scolding and nagging your children, making them angry and resentful. Rather, bring them up with loving discipline, with suggestions and godly advice" (LB). When I'm frustrated and angry with my kids, it feels good to let out that frustration; that release is an instant solution. But it does nothing for the long-term problem, and it strains the relationship between my kids and me. Instead of disciplining in anger, back away, calm down, get yourself under control, then come back and deal with the problem.

Watch your words. Ephesians 4:29 says, "Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that built up" (GN). Harmful words create hurtful memories. Those words that are spoken in anger and belittle our weaknesses and our faults and our failings are like knives in the heart. You don't want to leave harmful words in your family's memories. Instead, choose your words carefully, and speak in love.

A Parent's Prayer
Make this your prayer today and every day: "I will try to walk a blameless path, but how I need Your help especially in my own home, where I long to act as I should" (Psalm 101:2 LB).

Trust Your Kids with Responsibility

"Whoever can be trusted with a little can also be trusted with a lot ... And if you cannot be trusted with things that belong to someone else, who will give you things of your own?" (Luke 16:10, 12 NCV)
Nothing brings out the best in a person like having someone believe in him and trust him with responsibility. Jesus pointed this out. He said the way we grow is by being given responsibility. Luke 16 says, "Whoever can be trusted with a little can also be trusted with a lot ... And if you cannot be trusted with things that belong to someone else, who will give you things of your own?" (v. 10, 12 NCV).

Wise leaders and parents understand this principle. People respond to responsibility. Kids respond to responsibility. We all need places where we are trusted, where we can grow, develop, and prove ourselves. The only way you can learn the life skill of responsibility is by being given the opportunity to show responsibility.
Part of bringing out the best in your kids involves allowing them to fail. Our tendency is to protect our kids from failure; it's natural. We want to protect them from mistakes. We don't want them to feel bad. If they do fail, we want to bail them out quickly so they won't suffer.

But what we're doing is preventing them from learning a valuable lesson. Everybody fails; nobody is good at everything. The key to this has nothing to do with not failing in life; it's learning how to rebound from a failure. When you don't give kids the opportunity to fail, you are saying to them, "You're not competent, and I don't trust you. You can't handle it, so I'm going to do it for you." That approach keeps kids dependent upon their parents.

The Bible says this in Galatians 6:5: "We are each responsible for our own conduct" (NLT). When your kids fail, don't let them blame anybody else. Why? Because we must all learn that we are responsible for our own actions. That is a desperately needed truth today, because we're living in a nation of victims. Everybody is a victim! It's all somebody else's fault! But the Bible says we're each responsible for our own conduct. We're far better off trusting our kids too much than we are trusting them too little.
Talk About It
  • Are you doing too much for your kids? How could taking responsibility forsomeone take responsibility away from that person?
  • Talk about some of the failures you've experienced in your life. How did they help you grow as a person and in your walk with God?
  • Do you think it's important for your kids to experience failure so that they can learn some of the same life lessons? How do you handle this?

Death Begins in the Gut

Death Begins in the Gut

file0001512015307 300x200 Death Begins in the Guts

Talking about our colon may not be the most entertaining subject of them all, but it is one that could change your health forever, and even save your life. The colon plays an important role in our digestion, and in the absorption of nutrients. So we cannot underestimate it, and we must pay attention on taking good care of it. Death begins in the guts!!
Most people’s eating habits, are very acidic, and leave a lot of residues in our colon. Residues that can stay there for days, weeks, and even months! These residues produce fermentation, mold and bacteria that give birth to all sorts of diseases. An Alkaline Diet pays great attention to the way we combine our foods. The right combination of foods, with a majority of alkalizing foods ingested in every meal, protects our colon health. This kind of eating and food combination allows the colon to stay clean and healthy. It increases nutrient absorption, and promotes the proper discharge of waste before it literally rots inside of us and causes damage.

You’re only as good as your gut

Eating right–that is, with the right combinations of food–can restore health to your colon, and balance to your life

You’ve heard it before: Death begins in the colon. Your gut is home to millions and millions of bacteria, good and bad. Keep it healthy and you’ll create a balanced environment that will boost your immune system and help you fight off diseases.
Approximately 30 feet long, it is that tube that runs from your mouth to your anus and plays a vital role to the health of your mind, body, and spirit, said Dr. Teresa Bitanga Valeros, NMD and PhD.
Your colon has been working hard to keep you in good condition since you were born. When you eat meat, for instance, it takes three days for your stomach to digest. That’s three days of meat sitting in your gut, fermenting and rotting away…
…When you’re healthy, that means the bacteria population in your stomach is balanced—there are more “good” than “bad” bacteria. If you easily contract diseases, then balance must be restored.
“Eat a princely breakfast, a kingly—or queenly, as the case may be—lunch, and a meager or pauper’s supper,” said Dr. Valeros…
Finding the balance
…The stomach has often been referred to as the body’s “second brain” by medical practitioners and professors. Ever felt queasy before a big interview? That, they say, is your stomach listening to your brain.
“Only 10-20 percent understand how the mind-body connection is very important. What you eat can make you irritable or happy. There are even some foods that can make you feel suicidal. And this is proven by science. This is all about the immune system. My job is to strengthen it,” Valeros said.
Every person has a unique biochemical individuality; not even twins are the same, she said. Valeros said a four- or seven-day nutrition diet can help strengthen your immune system…
…“Negative emotion can bring about uric acid so we need to heal the spirit, mind and body. When you talk about complementary medicine, the simple layman’s term would be therapy. That includes music or art therapy. In fact, the principles of art have to be there,” Valeros said.
Like music, she continued, the music of digestion is a waltz. Everything has a rhythm and a cycle. The goal is to achieve balance.
“Whether it’s Traditional Chinese Medicine or Ayurvedic medicine, the goal is always balance—restoring balance in your being,” she said.
Too rigid
A monotrophic diet, or eating only one food at a meal, can help restore a healthy gut environment, but it is far too rigid for many to follow. Valeros has come up with a diet program/chart that allows one to combine some food without disturbing the restoration of balance in your gut.
Carbs, she said, are digested with an alkaline condition in the stomach; protein is digested with an acid condition. Combining both starches and proteins at a meal is not good because it “confuses the stomach,” she said.
So carbs such as potatoes, whole grain cereals, chestnuts, etc. are better off paired with greens and veggies. Proteins such as nuts, dairy products, seafood and “flesh” food (meat) are better paired with greens and veggies. Fruits should be eaten on their own, preferably 30 minutes before mealtime.
“Fruits should be eaten alone. It will be digested in 30 minutes. Never take fruit after a meal, except papaya, because this has digestive enzymes. Never take overripe fruits either because of the molds and fungus there,” she said.
While fruits may be good, some fruits are not to be combined with other fruits. Rule of thumb is to never eat sweet fruits with sub-acid or acid fruits. Valeros said it is better to stick to one classification of fruit.
For instance, you can eat acid fruits like citrus with pineapples or strawberries or sour plums. Just don’t eat them together with sub-acid fruits like apples, apricots, or grapes. Or with sweet fruits like bananas, dates, or prunes.
“Just focus on your good partners. A good mix is two or three types. If you overdo things, your stomach will get confused. One leads to wellness while another leads to illness. Heavy meals should already be eaten by lunchtime to give your body the chance to do its homework. The human digestive system is like sunrise and sunset,” she said.
Eat six meals a day, with merienda in between. Valeros also recommends the Formula 8 for maximum energy: eight hours of sleep, eight hours of relaxation, and eight hours of work.
“The body can heal itself, but then again it’s very subjective. It depends on how your body responds to the modification. Without a doubt it will get better, but probably not as good as your friend’s. Nobody has the perfect colon.”
Dr. Valeros agrees with many doctors that talk about food combination. And, even though some go into very rigid detail, the general guidelines are basically the same. Protein and starch should not be combined. Each of those should be eaten separately, in combination with bigger portions of vegetables. And fruits should be eaten separately from any other kind of food. Dr. Young talks about this too in his book The pH Miracle.
Another part of taking care of our colon is cleansing it. There are many cleansing diets around, and even cleansing methods using enemas. If you would like to look into this, I recommend Dr. Mitra Ray’s book Do You Have The Guts To Be Beautiful, a very interesting and easy to comply approach to beauty from the inside out.

Cinnamon and Honey; Whoever thought?

Cinnamon and Honey; Whoever thought?

Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. What it will do is what some call 'turning to sugar'. In reality, honey is always honey. However, when left in a cool dark place for a long time it will "crystallize". When this happens loosen the lid, boil some water and sit the honey container in the hot water, but turn off the heat and let it liquefy naturally. It is then as good as it ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. This will kill the enzymes in the honey.

Cinnamon and Honey

Bet the drug companies won't like this one getting around. Facts on Honey and Cinnamon: It is found that a mixture of honey and Cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a 'Ram Ban' (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without side effects for any kind of diseases.
Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, when it is taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm even diabetic patients. Researched by western scientists:

HEART DISEASES: Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply it on bread instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also, those who have already had an attack, when they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as one ages the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and the veins.

ARTHRITIS: Arthritis patients may take daily (morning and night) one cup of hot water with two tablespoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. When taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week (out of the 200 people so treated) practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain -- and within a month, most all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis now started walking without pain.

BLADDER INFECTIONS: Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder.

CHOLESTEROL: Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water given to a cholesterol patient was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, when taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

COLDS: Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and, clear the sinuses.

UPSET STOMACH: Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from its root.
GAS: According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that when Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

IMMUNE SYSTEM: Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacterial and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles (where DNA is contained) to fight bacterial and viral diseases.
INDIGESTION: Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food is eaten relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals

INFLUENZA: A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural 'Ingredient' which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.

LONGEVITY: Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Use four teaspoons of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of boiling water to make a tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans increase and even a 100 year old will start performing the chores of a 20-year-old.

RASPY OR SORE THROAT: When throat has a tickle or is raspy, take one tablespoon of honey and sip until gone. Repeat every three hours until throat is without symptoms.

PIMPLES: Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it off the next morning with warm water. When done daily for two weeks, it removes all pimples from the root.

SKIN INFECTIONS:Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin Infections.

WEIGHT LOSS:Daily in the morning one half hour before
breakfast and on an empty stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. When taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

CANCER: Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder three times a day for one month.

FATIGUE: Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, even when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, when taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M., the vitality of the body increases within a week.

BAD BREATH: People of South America, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water first thing in the morning so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.

10 FOODS THAT HELP TO GET RID OF PARASITES

10 FOODS THAT HELP TO GET RID OF PARASITES

The ideal environment for parasites to live and grow in our bodies is promoted by a diet

that includes refined carbohydrates (sugar), raw fish (sushi), undercooked meat

(specifically pork) and even inadequately washed fruit and vegetables.

Parasites can cause health problems such as bloating, cramps, diarrhea, allergies, anal

itching, anemia, low immune system, mucus or blood in stools and even affect your mood

with anxiety or depression. Picking them up is easier than you think: restaurants with poor

hygiene, holidays abroad with impure water, pets and animals.

Below is a list of 10 foods that can help keep these little beasts at bay so include them in

your diet to get rid of parasites naturally:

1. Pumpkin & Sunflower Seeds
For the freshest pumpkin seeds, remove the seeds from your pumpkin and expose them to

air for a few days to dry them out and eat them raw fist thing each morning.

Or if you like you can then bake them at 150c for 30 minutes with your favourite cold

pressed oils and seasonings such as cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.

Seeds make a crunchy addition to cereals, porridge or salads.

For a morning tonic, grind the seeds along with watermelon seeds into a powder and take

with aloe vera juice on an empty stomach each morning.

For a delicious salad dressing; grind seeds with fresh garlic, parsley and coriander leaves.

Mix with extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice.

2. Coconut

Coconuts provide the fatty acid, lauric acid. The only other plentiful source of this is from

lactating women; breast milk. When ingested, lauric acid is then converted to monolaurin

and kills or inactivates protozoa, including several species of ringworm and Giardia lamblia.

For tapeworms it is suggested to drink the juice and eat the flesh of one fresh coconut first

thing each morning then fast for 4 hours.

3. Pomegranates

This fruit has a sweet and sour flavour and can be used as a remedy for destroying worms

in the intestinal tract.

When in season, eat 1-3 per day.

4. Papaya

This fruit has a strong capacity to destroy worms, including most intestinal worms and

tapeworm. To enhance their anti worm powers remove the skin and soak in apple cider

vinegar for one day. Then eat eight ounces of this pickled papaya and drink 2 ounces of the

vinegar solution for 4 days.As a preventative while travelling, eat a spoonful of papaya

seeds once a day on an empty stomach. If you already have parasites, eat the seeds for one

week, then wait a week and repeat. It is important to chew the seeds thoroughly. If you

don’t find them palatable you may blend them into smoothies.

5. Garlic

If you (and your partner if you have one) can tolerate it, eat a garlic bud first thing every

morning. Chopping of crushing fresh garlic converts the phytochemical alliin to allicin, to

which many of garlic’s health benefits are attributed. For a tasty garlic hummus, puree 2

cloves of fresh garlic, 350 grams canned chickpeas, 2 tablespoons tahini, 2 tablespoons

extra virgin olive oil and 3 tablespoons lemon juice.Garlic is a great addition to fresh

vegetable juices; remove the garlic clove from the bulb and wrap in parsley so that the

chlorophyll can bind some of the strong odour and juice it before the other vegetables.

6. Horseradish

Horseradish is effective against food borne illness and is effective against some worms.

It is member of the cabbage family and is an ancient herb native to eastern Europe.

The Egyptians and early Greeks were quick to value its medicinal qualities. When

horseradish is cut, the powerful antibacterial ingredient allylisothiocyanate is released.

Always grate fresh horseradish in a room with an open window to avoid the stringent

fumes burning your eyes and nose. A spoonful of fresh horseradish in soup adds a

surprisingly mild but delicious flavour. For a sweet tangy sauce for fish or prawns mix

grated horseradish with dijon mustard and marmalade.

7. Thyme

Thymus is a Greek name for ‘courage’ but also had the meaning ‘to fumigate’, which may

be more appropriate in relation to its ability to cleanse the system of worms. Regularly eat

the sprigs of thyme and drink half a cup of thyme tea each morning and evening. For a

dressing or marinade add fresh garlic and thyme to extra virgin olive oil and leave for 1

week.

8. Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne is a spice, closely related to the sweet red and chilli pepper, and widely used in

Mexican and East Asian cuisines. Also known as Capsicum, its botanical name is derived

from a Greek word meaning ‘to bite’. It certainly does add a kick when used as a condiment

with food. Start with small amounts before increasing quantities and it will help to repel

parasites.

9. Bitter Melon

Bitter melon looks like an ugly cucumber. It is one of the most popular vegetables in asia

but an acquired taste for most westerners. In Chinese medicine, bitter foods drain ‘damp’

conditions such candida overgrowth and parasites. If you haven’t managed to acquire the

taste but still want to benefit from the medicinal effect, take a 60ml shot of the juice.

10. Green Onions

Like garlic, onions release the enzyme alliinase when it is cut or crushed. A tip for preparing

onions and avoiding the ‘crying factor’ caused by the sulphur compounds of onions, is to

refrigerate the onions for an hour before cutting and use a very sharp knife. For an anti

parasitic tonic, juice the white part of green onions and add 2 teaspoons of sesame seed oil.

Take twice a day on an empty stomach for 3 days.

Importance of Intestinal Cleansing to Purge Parasites

Now do bear in mind that it may not be enough to simply incorporate the above foods into

your daily nibbles, drinks and marinades, if you truly want to rid yourself of parasitic life.

It is essential to start with a course of colonic irrigation using the following specific herbs in

an implant; black walnut, wormwood and cloves. It is very important that these three herbs

must be used in combination in order to kill off the full lifecycle of parasites. Black walnut

hull and wormwood kill the adults and developmental stages of at least 100 parasites and

the cloves kill the eggs.

Following anti parasite colonic irrigation sessions to deep cleanse the colon and kill

parasites adding these 10 recommended foods to a diet high in fresh raw green vegetables,

will help to create an alkaline environment with a strong immunity against parasites and

worms, helping to keep you debugged!
