“Nature’s Sports Drink”

Tender Coconut water - has become all the rage with many celebrities and professional athletes for its hydrating properties. Tender Coconut water may be better at replacing lost fluids than a sports drink or water -- as long as you enjoy the taste. It is enhanced with sodium and it is as good as drinking a commercial sports drink for post-exercise rehydration with better fluid tolerance. Compared with most sports drinks, it’s lower in calories (45 to 60 calories per 250 ml), carbohydrates and sodium, and higher in potassium, another mineral that gets sweated out during exercise.

Tender Coconut water, the juice of young green coconuts, also contains magnesium and calcium. Its claim to fame is its high potassium content; a mineral many people don’t get enough of because they don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables.

But during prolonged exercise, we lose much more sodium than potassium. Coconut water alone can’t replace the sodium lost during strenuous exercise. Lighter exercisers, however, will do fine to rehydrate with coconut water

It is super hydrating and prevents from cramping even in the hottest and most humid conditions.

45 Life Lessons Celebrating Life

Written by Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer Newspaper, Cleveland, Ohio.

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most requested column I've ever written.

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step..

3. Life is too short - enjoy it..

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and
family will.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Stay true to yourself.

7... Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9.. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11... Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it...

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye But don't worry; God never blinks.

16... Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful. Clutter weighs you down in many ways.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to be happy. But it's all up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't
save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23 Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will
this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive but don't forget.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does..

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38.. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd
grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. Accept what you already have not what you need.

42. The best is yet to come...

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

3Cs: CARROT, CABBAGE, CELERY JUICE

3Cs: CARROT, CABBAGE, CELERY
HEALING JUICE FOR PEPTIC ULCER

Cabbage contains glutamic acid that is highly beneficial for the health of your intestinal tract. People suffering from stomach/peptic ulcer (due to medication) or inflammation has found cabbage juice to be very healing. Some find relief within 2-3 days of daily drinking the juice, some are healed within two weeks from drinking this mi
racle juice.

As cabbage is so effective for maintaining the stomach pH balance, it is also beneficial for helping to remedy IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), Crohn's disease, colitis, diverticulitis and gastritis (all gastro disorders).

However, the taste of cabbage is rather unpalatable. A good combo to make this juice is by adding carrots, celery, and broccoli (optional) which are all very mild and gentle on the injured stomach lining, also protecting against constipation and further colon problems.

See more pictures on this page:

BEETROOT JUICE FOR LIVER HEALTH

When we mention beetroot, liver health usually comes to mind. Rightly so, beetroot juice is a very good liver cleanser and a powerful blood builder.

It is a nutrient-dense powerhouse, thus provides many health benefits ...

- Healing for liver toxicity or bile ailments, like jaundice, hepatitis, food poisoning, diarrhea or vomiting.
- The high-quality iron content in beets regenerates and reactivates the red blood cells effectively.
- Its healing and medicinal values effectively regulate blood pressure - lowering high blood pressure or elevating low blood pressure.
- Anti-inflammatory. Helps relieve inflammation like gout, arthritis and asthma attacks.
- And many more, see this page:

Drinking beetroot juice may give you pink urine and even pink sweat. You may also get rosy cheeks from it but it's not the beetroot color that gives you that pinkish flush. The rosy cheeks come from a healthful liver that shows as a healthy pink on your face.

RECIPE: 1 medium-sized beetroot (peeled) with 1/8 lemon with peel.
Beetroot is very potent so take this juice only 2-3 times a week. Add lemon juice for better absorption of all the nutrients and also makes the beetroot juice taste sweet!

Love it or hate it !! :)

APPLE & RED/PURPLE CABBAGE: SO HEALING AND TASTES SO GOOD!

APPLE & RED/PURPLE CABBAGE:

SO HEALING AND TASTES SO GOOD!

Not many people like to juice cabbage but next time try juicing the red/purple cabbage instead. The colored cabbage has a powerful anti-oxidant, namely the anthocyanin.

Red cabbage does what green cabbage can do and more. Among the many health benefits:
- High anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effect, relieving inflammation like gout, arthritis and joint pains
- Reducing the risks of these cancers: breast, colon, liver, lung and ovary
- Healing to the digestive tract in the cases of IBS, peptic ulcers, Crohn's disease, diverticulitis, etc.

CAPSICUMS CONTAIN MORE VITAMIN C THAN ORANGES

Call it "sweet pepper", "bell pepper", "red/yellow/orange pepper", "chilli pepper" or whatever. They're all the same, and it's my favorite ingredient for juicing.

The different colors all offer different phytonutrients for different benefits, so do use them all. I find that red, yellow and orange capsicums are sweet and best for juicing, but I don't
like the green one in my juice.

Its high vitamin C content means it has so many health benefits ...
- Anti-bacterial and anti-fungal
- Anti-ageing, prevents premature skin ageing
- Prevent blood clots, thus preventing stroke
- Keep cold feet warm - nice to have in winter
- Prevent nose-bleeding
- Super immunity booster

And many more health benefits, read here:

RECIPE: 1 yellow/orange + 1 red capsicums + 1/8 of a lemon.
If you use a masticating juicer, you should get one nice big nutritious cup which is sufficient. In this case it's not quantity but quality that counts. The lemon "blunts" the taste of the peppers and multiplies absorption capacity.

Do you juice capsicum?
